Toyota Hilux as a volunteer fire brigade vehicle. How is a pickup?

Toyota Hilux as a volunteer fire brigade vehicle. How is a pickup? Emergency vehicles must always be ready for action. They cannot fail at the time of testing, and their operation must be long and trouble-free. Built for the needs of the fire brigade, the Hilux is ready for any challenge. How was it equipped?

This example of Hilux, prepared for the needs of the Volunteer Fire Department in Grodek, is built and fully equipped to meet the requirements of this service and courageously performs the tasks envisaged for a volunteer fire department.

To prepare the Hilux for the hard work and make sure it doesn't let you down, STEELER has equipped the car with a long list of features that enhance its capabilities and make it a true off-road beast. While the Hilux, which is leaving the factory, is off-road ready, add-ons and accessories for the vehicle, which will be in the hands of the volunteer fire department, have been installed to extend its uptime and increase its off-road capability. For the toughest conditions, BF Goodrich All Terrain 265/60/18 tires were installed with a slightly more aggressive tread pattern. However, these are still AT tires, i.e. those with which you can drive on asphalt without much sacrifice. Another change to the standard equipment is the SHERIFF steel skid plate set. 3 mm thick metal covers the lower part of the key components and assemblies - the engine, transmission and fuel tank.

It is compatible with the WARN winch (VR EVO 10-S), which will help you get out of difficult terrain in tricky situations. Lighting will also make it easier to get to the place, namely a set of two Lazer High Performance Lighting TRIPLE-R 750 lamps with a mounting system in the factory grille. Of course, the lighting is approved for operation, and the length of the light flux reaches up to 800 meters!

All of these modifications would be pointless if the Hilux were not properly prepared for their tasks upon arrival. Its body includes a container with roller shutters on both sides and is mainly made of aluminum. This metal provides sufficient strength and at the same time is so light that it does not raise the center of gravity of the pickup too much. The cave interior of the building is also equipped with a set of specialized boxes and a retractable platform with a load capacity of 300 kg. Together with the buildings, firefighters will pick up Hilux vehicles equipped with the power tools necessary for everyday work. There is also room on board for a 48-inch Hi-Lift, and access to this boon will be made easier by side steps with plastic overlays powder-coated in semi-gloss black. The car must be ready for work around the clock, so in addition to road lighting, there is also a place for LAZER Utility 25 work lights, which allows you to comfortably work on the sides and rear of the car.

Workplace connectivity is essential for those who work in the field. To facilitate communications, a Motorola radio was installed in the Hiluxie, with an antenna and cables for the needs of the fire department. There is also an overhead console on board with storage and radio space from @ARB 4×4 Accessories Europe. For visibility on the road and the corresponding signaling, the ELFIR signal beam with a loudspeaker and a set of signal lamps located in the front bumper and in the rear of the body is responsible.

What did not have enough space inside, turned out to be outside the car. The body builder lists accessories such as a large container roof rack with a roller for easy loading and a secure holder for custom ladders and sleds. Still not enough? There is also a hook at the rear that allows you to pull a trailer if needed, further increasing your transport options.
