Toyota and Subaru are announcing a new electric SUV concept that could be unveiled in the coming months.

Toyota has revealed its plans for a new electric SUV. Meanwhile, its luxury division Lexus has unveiled a new electric vehicle concept.

While it's one of two automakers seriously considering hydrogen fuel cells for passenger cars, it's also trying to keep up when it comes to electromobiles.

As for Toyota, the Japanese brand provided a simple sketch of a future electric SUV, which will be revealed in the coming months. From the teaser provided by the brand, it appears that this is the same image that the automaker used when it announced the partnership in 2019. The goal of the program is to create an electric vehicle platform that the two companies will use. and the first car on said platform, a compact SUV, as Toyota calls it.

The brand said that this SUV will be a completely new vehicle, and Europe will have the first dibs. It may be a completely separate vehicle, but the idea that Toyota is also planning this SUV for the US cannot be ruled out. As for the Subaru version, it should have a lot to do with the mechanics, and rumors point to the name. "Evoltis" models.

The switch to electric power will also see Lexus redesign its design, with the brand revealing just one sneak peek of a new concept vehicle it plans to unveil in the first quarter of next year. It's hard to make out the details, but it looks like an evolution of the brand's current corporate face. The grille is expected to be seriously redesigned as electric vehicles don't require as much cooling as an internal combustion engine.
