All elements of the fifth generation hybrid are definitely smaller - by about 20-30 percent. from the fourth generation. Smaller dimensions also mean much lighter component weight. For the driver, the new generation of the hybrid system primarily means lower fuel consumption. This is possible thanks to the use of a more efficient lithium-ion battery. The battery is more powerful and 40 percent lighter than before. In this way, it is possible to travel even longer distances in purely electric mode and use the electric drive for longer periods.

Hybrid Corolla Cross also with AWD-i drive

Corolla Cross will use a hybrid drive with a 2.0 engine. The total power of the installation is 197 hp. (146 kW), which is eight percent more than the fourth generation system. The latest hybrid will allow Corolla Cross to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 8,1 seconds. Exact data on CO2 emissions and fuel consumption will be announced at a later date.

The Corolla Cross will also be the first Corolla with AWD-i drive, already proven in other Toyota SUVs. An additional electric motor mounted on the rear axle develops an impressive 40 hp. (30,6 kW). The rear engine engages automatically, increasing traction and increasing the feeling of safety on low-grip surfaces.
