Toyota cuts production

The leadership of the Japanese automaker Toyota was forced to adjust their plans due to the difficult situation with the sale of new models that entered the market during quarantine.

According to representatives for the public, in July, auto manufacturing will be reduced by 10 percent. For example, since the beginning of June, 40% fewer cars have left the assembly line of the Japanese brand than was planned.

Another change that is known is the modernization of three conveyors at the factories of Hino Motors and Gifu Auto Body Co. All of them will be combined into one shift. The decline in production will affect, at least initially, the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and FJ Cruiser models, as well as the Hiace minivan.

At the same time, all the European factories of the largest manufacturers have already opened and resumed their activities. Despite the resumption of work, production is much lower than the capabilities of enterprises. For example, the world's largest manufacturer Volkswagen Group said that all of its plants in Europe are operating, but their capacity is from 60 to 90%.
