Toyota patented 90-degree wheels

Photos of the new development, recently patented by Toyota, show an alternative vision of the Japanese manufacturer on the movement of the car, were published online. As can be seen from the drawings, the innovative technology will be implemented in the all-wheel drive system. Thanks to it, the wheels can rotate at different speeds, and also rotate up to 90 degrees.

Development will facilitate maneuvering and driving. It will also be useful in narrow parking lots. The machine can not only move back and forth, but also at a different angle with respect to the original path.

As explained in the explanations to the patent, all wheels will be equipped with their own engine, which suggests that this technology will be implemented only in electric vehicles and some modifications of hybrids. Given the effective maneuverability of the car, it is impossible to exclude the use of this development in models with autopilot.
