Transcend Wi-Fi SDHC class 10

A memory card with a Wi-Fi adapter, thanks to which you will never get tired of transferring your photos to other devices.

Anyone who owns a digital camera knows that it comes with a memory card that stores photos and videos taken with it. Until recently, copying recorded material, for example, to a computer, was associated with the need to remove the storage medium from the camera and insert it into a suitable reader or connect both devices via a USB cable.

The development of wireless technology means that the whole process can be reduced to just a few touches of the smartphone screen - of course, if we only have a camera with a built-in Wi-Fi module. However, these devices are not the cheapest. Memory cards with a built-in Wi-Fi adapter have become an alternative to expensive cameras that provide wireless transmission of multimedia files.

The Transcend card works with a mobile application called Wi-Fi SD, which can be downloaded for free from the App Store and Google Play. After inserting the card into the camera, the entire structure of the photos and videos stored on it appears on the screen of the mobile device, which, in addition to the possibility of their quick transfer to other devices assigned to the network, can also be sorted into several categories. The mobile software does not yet have several rather important features - among others, automatic synchronization of files stored on the card and the ability to synchronize a single folder selected by the user. We hope that Transcend will update their application soon so that we can enjoy even more functionality of this product.

The Wi-Fi SDHC Class 10 card can operate in two modes. The first one is called direct share It activates automatically when the card is inserted into the camera and instantly makes its contents available on our wireless network. Second - Internet mode allows you to connect to a nearby hotspot (for example, while walking around the city) and allows you to immediately post a photo to your social network account (for example, Facebook, Twitter and Flickr are supported).

As for the parameters, there is nothing to complain about - the card reads saved files at a speed of about 15 MB / s, which is quite a decent result. The speed of wireless data transfer is also not bad - performance within a few hundred kb / s allows you to comfortably transfer photos. It's also worth noting that a camera equipped with an SDHC Class 10 Wi-Fi card will see up to three devices.

Transcend cards are available in 16GB and 32GB capacities. Their prices, however, are slightly higher than standard storage media, but remember that with Wi-Fi SDHC Class 10, completely new possibilities open up even in front of a rather old digital cable. Maciej Adamczyk
