requirement, composition, prices and expiration date in 2016

Since driving a car is always associated with health risks, a car first aid kit is a must. It should always be in the car, along with a fire extinguisher and a warning triangle.

In 2010, the updated requirements of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation began to operate, which set out in detail the composition of the first-aid kit and the requirements for it.

For 2016, the driver is not required to carry a lot of medicines with him. Basically, the first-aid kit is equipped with first aid, stopping bleeding, treating injuries, fixing broken bones, and artificial respiration.

Here are the main assets:

  • several types of non-sterile gauze bandages of different widths - 5m x 5cm, 5m x 7cm, 5m x 10cm, 7m x 14cm;
  • sterile gauze bandages - 5m x 10cm, 7m x 14cm;
  • bactericidal adhesive plaster - 4 x 10 cm (2 pieces), 1,9 x 7,2 cm (10 pieces);
  • adhesive plaster in a roll - 1 cm x 2,5 m;
  • tourniquet to stop bleeding;
  • sterile gauze medical wipes 16 x 14 cm - one pack;
  • dressing package.

In addition, it is mandatory to have rubber gloves, blunt scissors, a mouth-to-mouth artificial respiration device.

All these funds are placed in a plastic or cloth case, which must be tightly closed. The first-aid kit must be accompanied by a manual for its use.

In principle, nothing else should be in the first aid kit, although there are no indications that it is forbidden to supplement it with various drugs. For example, many people with chronic illnesses can carry the medicines and pills they need with them.

It was this composition that was approved because most drivers have a vague idea of \uXNUMXb\uXNUMXbhow to help the victims with the help of pills - this is the prerogative of qualified medical staff.

According to the traffic rules, the driver must:

  • perform a first aid;
  • make every effort to stop the bleeding and treat wounds;
  • do not move or change the position of the wounded in case of serious injuries;
  • immediately call an ambulance, in extreme cases, deliver the victims to a medical facility on their own or by passing transport.

If we talk about the composition of the first-aid kit until 2010, then it included:

  • Activated carbon;
  • ammonia alcohol;
  • iodine;
  • bag-container for cooling wounds;
  • sodium sulfacyl - a drug for instillation into the eyes in case of foreign objects getting into them;
  • analgin, aspirin, corvalol.

If we talk about the standard composition of the first-aid kit in the United States or in Western Europe, then there is also no need for such a large number of medicines. The main emphasis is on dressings, cold packs, heat-resistant blankets, which must be used to maintain a constant body temperature of the victim if he lies on the ground.

It is also worth noting that much stricter rules apply to passenger vehicles. For example, buses for transporting children are equipped with:

  • packing absorbent cotton;
  • two hemostatic tourniquets;
  • 5 dressing packages;
  • headbands-kerchiefs;
  • rescue heat-resistant blankets and sheets - two pieces each;
  • tweezers, pins, scissors;
  • splint and splint-collar for fixing injuries of the cervical spine.

It is the responsibility of the driver to strictly follow these instructions.

Requirements for a first aid kit

The main requirement is that all content must be usable. All packages are labeled with production date and expiration date. According to the order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the shelf life of a first-aid kit is 4 and a half years.

As you use or expire, the composition must be replenished in a timely manner. Otherwise, you will not be able to pass the inspection.

Prices

Buying a first aid kit today is not difficult. Prices start from 200 rubles and up to several thousand. The cost is influenced by the type of case (cloth or plastic) and composition. So, you can buy a professional first-aid kit for 3000 rubles, containing not only dressings, but also various medicines.

If you buy the cheapest option, it is most likely a distraction. For example, a tourniquet can break very easily if you need to tighten it too much to stop heavy bleeding. Therefore, in this case it is better not to save.

Penalty for the first aid kit

The presence of a first aid kit is one of the conditions for allowing the machine to operate. If it is not there, under article 12.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, part 1, you will be fined 500 rubles.

The editors of Vodi.su recall that according to the order of the traffic police No. 185, the inspector does not have the right to stop you solely for the sake of checking the first-aid kit. In addition, if there is a MOT coupon, then you had a first-aid kit during the inspection. But do not forget that a first aid kit can save the life of both you and other people.
