You, your motorcycle, at night ... and rain

Who likes riding a motorcycle at night and in the rain? Raise your hand! There don't seem to be many people 😉

It is clear that between limited visibility, slippery roads and a more than limited field of view, we are not at the end of our problems! Oh! I have forgotten that sweet feeling of being soaked to the bone ... Agree, there are better ways to ride a motorcycle.

Nevertheless, we are not insured against the fact that sooner or later we will have to face these conditions. So what should we do?

Do we stop at the side of the road until dawn comes and the rain stops?

B- are we bikers ?! Real ?! Let's go ... well, let's not say anything!

How to ride a motorcycle at night and in the rain?

When faced with night and rain, you can quickly feel a little (or even a lot!) Tension. Before facing these conditions, we will weigh the pros and cons. Am I ready to calmly approach these conditions OR I have a tumor in my stomach, and I am not going to do it? Straining, on the other hand, will not help anything. In this case, it is best to avoid the road in distress ... Postpone the trip instead.

If you're calm and relaxed, follow the advice of our Dafy experts and hit the road:

BA BA on motorcycles

1- Check the general condition of your motorcycle

2- Check the lighting

3- Check the condition of the tires (if they are inflated by 200 g, the water will drain more easily).

4- Heat the tires

5- Forget about dark / smoky visors (it's obvious!)

6- Check your equipment: it must be waterproof and highly visible for your safety.

Once all these elements are under control, we get on our bike and ride…relaxed, huh! Remember that 90% of driving is a look. So always look far ahead.

Adapt your driving

1- Stay liquid and cool ... NEVER strain

2- Avoid at all costs white stripes, road spots, obstacles such as the sunroof cover.

3- Position your gaze with the widest viewing angle, especially when cornering

4- At roundabouts, sit inside

5- Avoid the central traffic lanes and follow the driver's tire tracks.

6- Do not exceed 100 km / h to avoid the risk of aquaplaning.

7- Drive at low speed to avoid jolts

Maintain confidence in yourself and your motorcycle; Everything will be fine !
