- An exhaust manifold. Regardless of its design, it plays the role of a collector of exhaust gases and their further withdrawal into the pipe.

- Muffler. Reduces noise when exhaust gases are released into the atmosphere. The muffler is designed in such a way that it dampens the speed of the exhaust gases, and, accordingly, the noise at the output.

- Audio - tuning - this is when your exhaust system makes a "grunting - growling", a sound that is pleasant to your hearing, characterizing the power of the engine. Here you will need to replace the converter with a flame arrester and install a straight-through silencer.
- Video - tuning it can be in the form of beautiful and unusual muffler attachments, the so-called "tail". The good thing is that it practically does not require intervention in the design and costs little financial investment. Or you can surprise girls with the so-called "dragon tongue". That is, the emission of flame from the exhaust pipe. This type of exhaust system tuning will require intervention in the design and ... that's it. The effect of it is only during parking, i.e. motionless.
- Technical tuning exhaust system - this is already a serious desire to increase the power of the car from 10 to 15%. But this option also has a drawback - an increase in fuel consumption. But you decided to do an exhaust system tuning, so you have weighed everything, and you know why you need it.
How to make tuning the exhaust system with your own hands
In this case, you will need to completely replace the standard exhaust system with a direct-flow one. In principle, it can be done with your own hands in the garage, if you have the skill and equipment in the form of welding, a pipe bender and a grinder.
But, in addition to equipment and skills, for do-it-yourself technical tuning of the exhaust system, you will need its exact calculation: compliance with the technical characteristics of your car, the type of straight-through muffler, its diameter and material of manufacture. Every little thing matters here. So that in the end, the power of your car, on the contrary, does not become less.
Therefore, tuning the exhaust system with your own hands is easier, but more expensive, to do by purchasing a branded direct-flow exhaust system that matches the parameters and design of your car. And its installation will no longer be difficult to carry out on your own, having a pit or a lift and tools at hand.
And yet, before you start tuning the exhaust system of your car, ask yourself the question - for what? And, already based on the answer, decide which type of tuning to choose.
