UConnect. Driver friendly multimedia system
Various options, tabs and buttons. On-board multimedia systems, designed to make life easier for the driver, often complicate it. However, this is not necessarily the case. When installed on the new Fiat Tipo, the UConnect system is convenient and easy to use.
The basic version of the UConnect multimedia system, with USB and AUX connectors and four speakers, belongs to the standard equipment of the new Fiat Tipo. This does not require additional payment in the basic version of the compact sedan, which is currently offered from PLN 42. It is worth investing PLN 600 in a hands-free Bluetooth kit, that is, wireless technology that allows you to connect your car to your mobile phone. By connecting "cellular", you can make or answer incoming calls without fear of a fine and penalty points.
For PLN 1500, Fiat is offering the UConnect infotainment system with a 5-inch LCD touch screen. This is standard equipment in the richer Easy and Lounge versions. Using UConnect is very simple and no different from managing a smartphone. Simply press your finger on the screen located in the center of the dashboard to, for example, find your favorite radio station. The touchscreen UConnect also includes a Bluetooth hands-free kit. If we decide to pay extra PLN 300 for a multifunctional steering wheel, then to start a conversation you don’t even need to take your hands off the steering wheel – just touch the button on one of its levers with your thumb. It is worth noting that both the multi-wheel and the UConnect multimedia system with Bluetooth are standard on the Easy, Lounge and special versions of the Opening Edition and Opening Edition Plus.
An increasingly common piece of equipment in the C segment is factory navigation. This type of device could not be missing from the new Fiat sedan. The system was developed in collaboration with TomTom. UConnect NAV navigation with a 5-inch screen will guide the driver to the desired destination using 3D maps. Thanks to the free and constantly updated traffic information TMC (Traffic Message Channel), we will avoid traffic jams and save fuel at the same time.
UConnect NAV also has a built-in Bluetooth module with the so-called music streaming, that is, the playback of music files on our phone through the car audio system. Another feature of UConnect NAV is the ability to read SMS messages, which greatly improves driving safety. If you decide to upgrade the navigation of the new version of Fiat Tipo Pop, you need to prepare PLN 3000. In the Easy and Lounge versions, this option costs half as much. The best possible solution would be to opt for the Tech Easy package. For PLN 2000 we get UConnect NAV navigation and rear parking sensors.
An add-on that deserves a recommendation is a rear-view camera with a dynamic trajectory. The camera definitely makes reversing parking easier, especially in tight parking lots near shopping malls. To start it, just turn on the reverse gear, and the image from the rear wide-angle camera will be displayed on the central display. In addition, colored lines will appear on the screen, which will indicate the path of our car, depending on the direction in which we turn the steering wheel.
Fiat offers a camera for vehicles equipped with the 5-inch UConnect infotainment system. It costs 1200 PLN. Also in this case, you can save by choosing the Business Lounge package for PLN 2500. It includes a dynamic trajectory rearview camera, UConnect NAV navigation, rear parking sensors, a second-row passenger armrest and a driver's seat with adjustable lumbar support. The price list of all the above accessories is PLN 5000.
