Car theft. "On the farmazone" or "on the pocket"

Car theft. "On the farmazone" or "on the pocket" When is the easiest time to steal a car? When the owner is not at home. I.e? On holiday! This scenario is readily exploited by car thieves, whose activity is not prevented by the heat.

According to the Central Statistical Office, in Poland there are 539 cars per 1000 inhabitants. This is more than in England and France. Over the past 10 years, more than 10 million cars have been added to our country. In many cases, this means that there are several cars per household. One for the family, one for the weekend and one for the daily commute. Usually, when you go on vacation, at least one of them is parked in front of the house or in the garage, and your two-week absence is a treat for thieves. Experienced thieves of other people's property willingly choose cases where the unflappable can work their thieving magic - use burglars, lock picks and a computer in the case of old cars or suitcases, stealing cars with a keyless system. Time is priceless for them, because the absence of a car owner at home usually means a lack of reaction to intruders.

“During the holiday season, we receive more reports of theft not only from popular tourist destinations, but also from places where cars have been left for vacations,” says Dariusz Kvakshys of Gannet Guard Systems, a tracking company. and tracking stolen vehicles.

Another scenario car thieves readily fit into is resort theft. Criminals take advantage of distraction and use classic methods to steal cars "on the free zone" (distracting the driver when the keys are in the car) or "on the pocket" (stealing the keys from the pocket). When you get home and don't find your car, the problem is "just" the loss of property. When you lose your car while on vacation, 500 km from home, the problem is the difficult return and the need to complete all the formalities away from the help of relatives or all the necessary documents.

“For tourists, it is especially important to return the car quickly, not only because of the difficulties associated with its absence, but also because the car quickly ends up in a pit, where it is almost immediately taken apart,” explains Dariusz Kvakshis.

You can find a stolen car almost instantly. On one condition - it must be equipped with a modern radar system. “Cars with advanced radio tracking systems - 98 percent. cases recover within 24 hours. The effectiveness of this solution has been confirmed in conversations with us even by police officers from the departments for combating automobile crimes,” says Miroslav Maryanovski, security manager for Gannet Guard Systems.

The search for a stolen car is always carried out according to the same procedure. The owner reports the loss of the car to the police, and immediately informs the company responsible for protecting the car about the loss of property or agrees to cooperate with it based on notifications sent automatically by the modules installed in the vehicle. After receiving the report, the headquarters passes instructions to the search party, which takes steps to find the vehicle.
