Unu Scooter: first deliveries expected in spring 2020

The delivery of the new Unu electric scooter, which was first announced in September, has been postponed. They should start no earlier than next year.

In a new press release, Berlin-based startup Unu gives us some news about the marketing of its new electric scooter.

Brand new design

While the brand's first electric scooter, the Unu Classic, launched in 2015, was developed on an existing basis, the new Unu electric scooter was developed in-house from A to Z. " The top priority was to create a simple and affordable product that would make everyday life in the city as easy as possible, as well as make electric mobility and connectivity available to everyone. »Talks about a Berlin startup that called on designer Christian Zanzotti to come up with and design a new edge for the brand.

The Unu Scooter, featuring rounded lines and circular optics that resemble the visual signature of Niu's electric scooters, has also been the subject of cutting edge work in terms of integration. One of the team's primary concerns was to place removable battery packs under the saddle without damaging the cargo area. The bet is a priori successful, since there is enough space to accommodate two helmets.

Also in car sharing

In addition to selling its electric scooters to individuals and professionals, Unu also intends to invest in the car sharing segment.

"The number of people paying to use a vehicle, not to own, is on the rise." said Pascal Blum, one of the three founders of Unu, who doesn't want to lose sight of the juicy market. Equipped with a digital key and a mobile application to identify it, the Unu electric scooter already has most of the prerequisites for integrating carsharing services and launching new offers.

In the Netherlands, the manufacturer plans to release the first device in connection with the operator, whose name has not yet been disclosed. If the concept is successful in the Netherlands, it could also be launched in Germany as early as next year, Unu said.
