Developed by Russian manufacturer Ural and exhibited at EICMA in Milan, this electric sidecar motorcycle is based on the technology of the Californian Zero motorcycles.

Unknown in our regions, the Ural has a long history in the motorcycle sidecar industry. However, this is the first time the brand has introduced an all-electric model. Shown as a prototype, Ural's electric stroller borrows its electrical technology from Californian specialist Zero Motorcycles.

Technically there is a Zero Z-Force electric motor with 45 kW and 110 Nm paired with two batteries also from Zero. The first is the ZF13.0 package and the second is the ZF6.5 package. Enough to provide 19,5 kWh of energy, more than small electric vehicles like the e-Up, Peugeot iOn or Citroën C-Zero.

In terms of performance, the manufacturer promises a range of up to 165 kilometers and a top speed of 140 km / h.

If the Ural electric motorcycle is only a product today, then the manufacturer is seriously thinking about its release. “After final design approval, we estimate it will take about 24 months to start serial production.” he said.

However, Ural is not the first manufacturer to become interested in an electric wheelchair. ReVolt Electric Motorbikes, a Texas-based company that specializes in converting old motorcycles to electricity, is working on electrifying a 71s BMW R30.
