Gas installations do not lose popularity. Even in an era of low fuel prices, they deliver measurable savings. The only question is whether to choose a used car with an installed installation or use this service after buying a car.
Manufacturers fight for the buyer with supercharged engines, slow-burning diesels or hybrids, which are gaining ground in many countries thanks to tax incentives. Interestingly, the demand for an honest gas installation is not decreasing, despite the fact that it is more difficult to connect it in newer models. It should be noted that the installation of HBO in modern engines with direct injection is not very profitable. This is mainly due to the very high cost of installation and the need to burn a small amount of gasoline with gas.
Buying a car with HBO installed
An installed gas installation can be a strong trump card when selling a car. The main argument is that a potential buyer will not have to spend time connecting it and he will immediately be able to start economical driving. However, it is worth remembering the questions that you need to check before buying.
Cars with HBO installations are usually intensively used - they break annual mileage records, so you should not believe in underestimated odometer readings. Why? The gas plant is not installed to drive a little. Another thing is that the engine is usually less able to run on gas than on gasoline. This results in faster wear and requires more attention to detail, such as more frequent oil changes.
– Often the decision to sell a car is made when the engine begins to require more serious repairs or the LPG system is not adjusted and, despite many efforts, the engine does not work properly on alternative fuels. Gas installations are expensive. High-quality systems for powerful engines can cost up to several thousand zlotys, and new owners who have just bought a car often do not have that kind of money. Time is another issue. It is necessary to find a qualified workshop and leave the car in it for a while. The last point is operation. In order for the investment to pay off, you really need to travel a lot. Otherwise, the installation of HBO simply does not make sense.
“However, outsourcing the assembly of LPG plants has many advantages. We don't have to worry about the maintenance history of the system because we know it from the beginning. In addition, choosing a company on your own and being able to ensure the correct assembly is a big plus. Another thing is the engine. If earlier it ran only on gasoline, we are more confident that it is in good condition and that our gas installation will work with it for a long time,” explains an expert from Autotesto.pl.
Most of all depends on the budget allocated for the purchase of a car. A car with an already installed gas installation will be cheaper to operate. However, the buyer bears the risk. The decision should be evaluated in terms of the intended course, which of the decisions will be more profitable for us.
