Dinner for two - what to cook for a romantic dinner?

A Valentine's and non-Valentine's dinner for two doesn't necessarily mean hours of cooking. All you need is a good idea for something out of the ordinary and you can celebrate. Even every evening!

Before we start making a shopping list and planning meals and desserts, let's think about what makes even an ordinary cheese sandwich unique. For some, it will be a beautifully set table - linen napkins, beautiful dishes, candles. For others, it will be romantic music and flowers. For others, the element of surprise: because someone who most likely doesn't know how to cook will suddenly cook a meal. Often the food alone cannot make the evening special.

How to cook a fish dinner for two?

Fish always cooks pretty quickly. They don't like too much cooking, and good quality fish has a lot of flavor on its own. When buying fish, make sure it comes from sustainable sources. If so, it will be marked with a blue MSC badge.

this is a very tasty combination. mashed potatoes and cauliflower with roasted black cod and parsley and capers.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cod fillets
  • 350 g potatoes
  • 1 cup rose cauliflower
  • olive oil
  • Parsley
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 teaspoons of capers

Place 350g peeled and diced potatoes in a saucepan. Add 1 cup cauliflower roses. Boil everything in water with 1/2 teaspoon salt until the potatoes are soft.

Meanwhile, sprinkle 2 cod fillets with salt and lightly brush with olive oil. Put them in an oven preheated to 200 degrees Celsius and bake for about 15 minutes - the fish will fall apart slightly when touched with a fork. During this time, however, we are not idle and prepare mashed potatoes and a crust. Relish is simple: chop a handful of parsley and add 1 clove of minced garlic. Add 2 teaspoons of chopped capers to the garlic parsley. Mix everything and set aside.

Drain potatoes and cauliflower. Add to them 2 tablespoons of butter, 4 tablespoons of milk and beat with a potato masher. Put the puree on a plate, put the fish fillet on it, and finally sprinkle with parsley and capers.

How to cook a quick and easy dinner for two?

If someone likes unusual (and witty!) solutions, you can cook a romantic dinner beetroot noodles and serve with chicken breast.

Composition:

  • 1 pack of beets, spirally sliced ​​(they are in supermarkets next to bags of spinach. You can also prepare beet noodles yourself, for example, using a vegetable peeler and a knife or vegetable cutter)
  • 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 cm slice of ginger
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • pinch of salt
  • oil for frying
  • 5 large mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons butter or vegetable oil.

Gently sprinkle the chicken breasts with 1/2 teaspoon salt. Fry in oil over low heat, while pouring 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. The chicken will cook slowly for about 8-10 minutes.

During this time, boil the water and throw into the boiling beets. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until they are slightly soft but firm. Drain. Add finely chopped garlic, ginger and rice vinegar to the beets. We mix.

Wash mushrooms and cut into thin slices. Put them in the pan next to the chicken breasts and let them soften.

Serve beets, chopped chicken breast and mushrooms on plates. Attention! Heat up what is left in the pan (chicken fat), mix with 2 tablespoons of water and 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar and drizzle over the meat.

How to cook a simple and quick dinner with your own hands?

At first, I had some concerns about one device - the multicooker. I'm wondering if it makes sense to buy an electric pan? and will I always be doomed to stew after I buy it?

However, as a working woman, I have discovered how much you can just put in a pot, leave it overnight (or, in the case of working from home, for the day) and enjoy a delicious meal without any extra effort. You can put almost any meat and vegetables in the slow cooker, add some water and let it simmer for several hours. My favorite dish is beef (or stew pieces or beef cheeks), which I lightly sprinkle with salt and put in a slow cooker.

Long beef - recipe

Composition:

  • 0.5 kg beef (pieces for goulash / beef cheeks)
  • 1 carrots
  • ½ parsley
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 bulb
  • 2 sprigs rosemary
  • 2 tablespoons pickled onions
  • 1 cup dry red wine (can be replaced with water)

At the bottom, pre-vegetables: chopped carrots, 1/2 chopped parsley, 2 cubes of potatoes, two sprigs of rosemary, a quartered onion, 2 tablespoons of pickled onions.

I add 1 glass of water or 1 glass of dry red wine to it and let it brew for 8 hours. The result is incredibly tender, decaying meat, vegetables and sauce. Thanks to the addition of wine and onion vinegar, the vegetables do not fall apart, but are soft.

For those who don't eat or don't want to eat meat, I offer a vegetarian version of the classic chili con carne.

Chili sin carne - recipe

Composition:

  • 1 can of chickpeas/lentils
  • 1 can of red beans
  • ½ liter of tomato passata
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 bulb
  • 1 zucchini
  • 2 peppers (preferably red and green)
  • 1 glass of dry red wine
  • 1 teaspoon chili
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • rice
  • Avocado/lime/chili as an accompaniment

Place 2 cans of pods (e.g. chickpeas, red beans, lentils) in the slow cooker, add 1/2 liter tomato passata, 2 garlic cloves, 1 quartered onion, 1 tbsp cumin, 1 tbsp ground coriander, diced 1 green pepper and 1 red pepper. Pour 1 glass of water or 1 glass of dry wine and let it brew for 8 hours.

If you like spicy dishes, add 1 teaspoon of chili, if you prefer not spicy, a pinch is enough. Before serving the chili sin carne, boil the rice (add 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water and cook until the rice absorbs the water).

Put the rice on a plate and pour in the chili sin carne. Top with chopped coriander, fresh avocado slices and a quarter of a lime. Spicy lovers can add thinly sliced ​​red chili peppers.

Romantic dinner for two - how to make a simple and quick dessert?

Dessert is the culmination of the meal. However, on Valentine's Day, you should avoid overeating. Therefore, they will be the easiest dessert Fruit in chocolate.

It is enough to dissolve half a bar of dark chocolate in a water bath. Place the broken chocolate in a dry saucepan or metal bowl, place the bowl over a saucepan of boiling water; stir until chocolate is melted).

Dip half fruit into chocolate and place on baking paper until cool. Best for this dessert are pieces of tangerine, pieces of orange (they can be candied!), raspberries or strawberries.
