Wondering which app experienced EV drivers use to check if the charger is free? Are you a professional driver, discharging your battery from 80 percent to full and you know it will take a long time, so you want to leave a contact on the charger? PlugShare app works great in both cases.

The PlugShare app will allow you to find the nearest charging points, including the model of the car or the outlet that you have in the car. To use it, you need to download it:

• log into Google Play if you have an Android phone,
• sign in to Apple iTunes if you are using iPhone.

To use the registration option, you need to create an account with PlugShare. The most convenient way to do this is at PlugShare.com. When you're ready, you can register at the charging stations:

1. Find your charger or let the app find it.

If PlugShare cannot find you on the map, for example, because you are in an underground garage, find the charger that you plug into yourself. You just need to find it on the map, press and press the "i" in the circle:

It is very easy to leave information about yourself. Just press the biggest button report back:

after clicking report back choose what information you want to leave. You can:

• inform that you will be loading before an hour -> press Loading in progress

• report that the device is not working properly -> press Download failed (not shown in the picture)

NOTE. If you leave hints, we recommend using geographic directions, as the information "left socket" or "front socket" is not always readable.

4. Set the charging time.

5. Complete the visit to the charger.

Are there apps that automatically report back to the charger?

PlugShare is quite a traditional solution, so to speak - everything requires manual control. It is worth knowing that the Greenway driver portal and the Ecotap app allow you to view the status of electric vehicle charging points in real time by simply querying the pan-European network.

However, both solutions have their limitations, for example, they cannot see chargers outside of any network. Ecotap often displays the Chademo error on Greenway devices even though the charging point is working and someone is using it.
