Lime electric scooters exceed 3 million rides in Paris

Lime electric scooters, launched on the streets of the capital at the end of June 2018, have already made more than three million trips.

If self-service electric scooter devices regularly generate controversy, users seem to like them. California-based startup Lime, which has logged over 3.2 million trips since launching its system in Paris, confirms the success of its service. It consists of several thousand electric scooters and quickly gained popularity thanks to the concept of "free floating" - a mobile application for finding and reserving equipment.

« Parisians have an appetite for this mode of transport (...) we register 30.000 rent per day. “, Lime France general manager Artur-Louis Jacquier said in an interview with JDD in mid-January.

Green electricity

In addition to this record, Lyme formalizes a new partnership. It is contracted with Planète OUI, a green electricity supplier, and aims to provide the operator's French fleet with 100% renewable energy.

In addition to supplying the company's warehouses, this green electricity will also be offered to "juicers", these independent individuals who will take care of restoring and recharging the machines the next day in the evening. Under the terms of the agreement, Planète OUI will offer them a special contract that will save them up to € 50 per month on average compared to the EDF rate. The offer is accompanied by a three-month subscription.
