In Paris, Seat recharges electric bicycles and scooters for free

The first Seat Move station, installed in the forecourt of Saint-Lazare train station, offers free parking and recharging for scooters and electric bicycles.

Seat, the Volkswagen Group leader in mobility, is expanding into the two-wheeled vehicle market. Having launched its Seat Mo 125 electric scooter line and electric scooter a few months ago, the Spanish brand has just formalized the deployment of the Seat Move station. Available until the end of 2021 at the forecourt at Saint-Lazare train station, it allows users to charge their bicycles and electric scooters free of charge.

You don't need a special icon to use it. All you need to do is scan the QR code displayed on the SEAT MOve Station and then proceed to registration. Once this is done, the user will be able to view the available seats in real time and select their time slot and the duration of the booking. There are 24 beds in the resort.

The station is recharged by the energy of passers-by

The Seat mobile station has a container format and can be easily moved around as needed.

It is powered by solar panels, but also, more ingeniously, from a 32 m² piezoelectric tile. Walking along these stoves, passers-by generate energy, which is then stored to recharge two-wheeled electric vehicles. According to Seat, each step taken generates an average of 3 joules of electricity, or the equivalent of 7 watts of energy per pass.
