The ubiquitous camera that bounces like a ball

The bouncing ball cameras, created by Bounce Imaging and called The Explorer, are covered with a thick protective layer of rubber and equipped with a set of lenses evenly distributed over the surface. The devices are touted as the perfect piece of equipment for police, military and firefighters to throw balls that record 360-degree images from dangerous locations, but who knows if they might find other, more entertaining uses.

The conductor, which captures the image around, is connected to the operator's smartphone using a special application. The ball connects via Wi-Fi. In addition, he himself can become a wireless access point. In addition to a six-lens camera (rather than six separate cameras), which automatically “glues” the image from multiple lenses into one wide panorama, temperature and carbon monoxide concentration sensors are also installed in the device.

The idea of creating a spherical penetrating chamber that penetrates hard-to-reach or dangerous places is not new. Last year, the Panono 360 came out with 36 separate 3-megapixel cameras. However, it was considered too complex and not very durable. The Explorer has been designed with durability in mind.
