Dual Channel DVRs

It would seem, why film what is happening inside the car? In this case, the analogy with a black box in an airplane will be appropriate. Recordings from such a device in the event of an accident will be able to confirm that the collision was the fault of the driver, as, for example, he was distracted by a conversation with a passenger or was talking on a mobile phone. Accordingly, he could not consider the obstacle on the road in time and take the necessary measures.

There are also two-channel DVRs in which the second camera is not located on the case, but is a separate compact unit on a wire. It can be used to view what is happening behind the car. As a rule, it has a lower resolution, the video quality is much worse, there is no built-in microphone.

Multichannel DVRs

These devices can be equipped with a large number of cameras. Their main types:

• mirror - mounted on the rear-view mirror;
• hidden type - in the cabin there is only a display on which the image from the cameras installed in the front or rear of the car is projected;
• conventional - the front camera is mounted on the windshield, while the others are connected to the unit via wires.

The main disadvantage of such gadgets is their high cost. In addition, more memory is required to save all video materials. But even in the event of an accident, you can look at a particular situation from different angles.

Also, many models have a sufficiently capacious battery, which provides long-term offline operation. So, if the motion sensor works at night, when the car is parked, the registrar will be able to fix the hijackers who want to open your car. In this case, the video will not be saved on the internal memory card, but will be transferred to the cloud storage.

However, the audio here is single-channel, that is, the rear camera writes without sound. Otherwise, the usual characteristics: night mode, shock and motion sensors, saving video in a cyclic mode, supports external drives.

We had the good fortune to use this gadget for a while. In principle, we did not experience any problems with the installation, the second camera can be installed anywhere, since the length of the wire is enough. The video quality is tolerable. But the designers miscalculated a little with the exit for the second camera, so it will not work to quietly let the wire through the cabin. In addition, the cable is quite thick. Another point - in the summer the device can freeze tightly and only Hard Reset will help with the complete removal of all saved settings.

If we talk about the advantages and disadvantages of this device, then let's say to the rhinestone that this model is not the best in quality: it often hangs, GPS disappears when it wants to. But if you connect only one camera or, in extreme cases, two, then the DVR will work quite stably.
