Types of light in the car. Do you also have this problem?

Types of light in the car. Do you also have this problem? Every driver should know how important it is to properly illuminate the car. This is increasingly helped by appropriate systems, which can be unreliable. But there is a way.

Types of lamps and their functions:

- passing light - Their task is to illuminate the road in front of the car. Because of their range, they are often referred to as short. Their inclusion is mandatory from dusk to dawn, interchangeable with traffic lights. We also use them in conditions of poor transparency: fog or rain.

– traffic light We use them from dusk to dawn. Because of their power, they are called long. They illuminate the road in front of the vehicle, improving visibility. The beam of light illuminates the road symmetrically, i.e. right and left side of the road. The driver using road lights must turn them off if there is a risk of dazzling other drivers or pedestrians.

- fog lights - used to illuminate the road in conditions of limited air transparency. Cars front and back. The front ones are used in difficult weather conditions or when signs allow it. We can only use the rear fog lights when visibility drops below 50 meters.

– turn signals – are used to signal a change in direction or lane.

- stop lights - a signal of braking of the car. These indicators come on automatically when braking.

- parking lights - provide parking lighting. They should provide visibility of the car with good air transparency from 300 meters.

– reflectors - to ensure the visibility of a vehicle illuminated by another vehicle at night.

- emergency lighting - signal emergency situations. We use them if our stop is the result of vehicle damage or an accident.

Problem with automatic lighting?

In new models, the computer decides which lighting to use in the car. Some drivers say you shouldn't always trust technology completely.

Drivers note that the system is not necessarily good for drizzle and fog. The driver then has to turn on the low beam, but the computer remains with the daytime running lights. And this may entail a fine (PLN 200 and 2 demerit points).

The system can activate high beam headlights in a way that dazzles drivers. For this, a fine is provided - PLN 200 and 2 penalty points.

To avoid problems, turn off the automatic mode and turn on the appropriate lighting yourself.
