In short: Jaguar XF Sportbrake 2.2D (147 kW) Luxury

The XF is not the latest model, it's been on the market since 2008, it was updated last year, and since caravans are popular among buyers of this class of car, it also received a Sportbrake version, as Jaguar calls caravans. The XF Sportbrake may even be prettier in terms of design than the sedan, but either way, it's one of those trailers that gives the impression that the designers put more emphasis on beauty than usability. But only on paper, with its 540-litre boot and nearly five meters of exterior length, it's actually a very useful multi-use or family car.

The interior is quite upmarket, including a rotary gear knob that rises above the center console when the engine is started, and the materials and workmanship are good. Speaking of the gearbox, the eight-speed automatic is smooth, yet fast enough, and at the same time it understands the engine perfectly. In this case, it was a 2,2-liter four-cylinder diesel with 147 kilowatts or 200 "horsepower" (other options are a 163-horsepower version of this engine and a three-liter V6 turbodiesel with 240 or 275 "horsepower"), which is convincingly powerful, but at the same time quite economical. The drive is directed to the rear wheels, but you rarely notice this due to the perfectly tuned ESP, as turning the wheels into neutral with the driver's right leg too heavy tames effectively, but gently and almost imperceptibly.

The chassis is comfortable enough to fit perfectly even on bad roads, yet strong enough to keep the car from rocking around corners, the brakes are powerful, and the steering is precise enough and provides plenty of feedback. Thus, such an XF Sportbrake is a good compromise between a family car and a dynamic car, between performance and fuel consumption, as well as between usability and appearance.
