In short: Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0 V6 Multijet 250 Summit

Jeep is an automotive brand that many people immediately associate with SUVs. You know, just like (former company) Mobitel with a mobile phone. But there's nothing wrong with that, as Jeep has really built a reputation for being an off-road vehicle. Well, the Grand Cherokee has long been more than just an SUV, it's also a luxury car that definitely sets buyers apart.

This was sometimes desirable precisely because American cars were not common in Slovenia. At the same time, the customer had to ignore the obvious American genes, which are reflected in the unconvincing chassis, fancy gearbox and, of course, huge fuel consumption. Gasoline engines and heavy vehicles do not spare.

So, with all of the above, the last (quick) repair is more understandable. When the Grand Cherokee was known for its boxy shape, this was no longer the case. Already the fourth generation has made many changes, especially the last one. Perhaps or mainly because Jeep, along with the entire Chrysler group, took over the Italian Fiat.

The designers gave it a slightly different mask with the characteristic seven more flat vents, and it also got new, much thinner headlights that attract attention with a very nice LED finish. The taillights are also diode, and apart from a slightly modified form, there are no major innovations here. But this "American" does not even need them, because even in the form in which he is, he convinces in terms of design and makes passers-by turn their heads on their own after him.

The updated Grand Cherokee looks even more convincing inside. Also or mostly because of the Summit equipment, which contains a lot of sweets: full leather interior, excellent and loud Harman Kardon audio system with all the accompanying connectors (AUX, USB, SD card) and, of course, the connected Bluetooth system and a large central screen . , heated and cooled front seats, a reversing camera including an audible parking sensor warning, and excellent cruise control, which actually consists of two - classic and radar, which allows the driver to choose the most suitable for current driving conditions. Sits well, eight-way power front seats. Even otherwise, the sensations in the cabin are good, you won’t even regret the ergonomics.

If you are reading to find out how thirsty this "Indian" is, I must disappoint you. When performing everyday (urban) tasks or driving, it is not necessary that the consumption exceeds an average of 10 liters per 100 km of track, and when leaving the city, you can reduce it by another liter or two. It is clear that this is not connected with gasoline, but with an excellent and powerful three-liter six-cylinder turbodiesel engine (250 "horsepower") and an eight-speed transmission (brand ZF). The transmission shows some hesitation and jerking only when starting off, and while driving it works convincingly enough that there is no need to change gears using the steering wheel blades.

If we add air suspension (which can “think” and adjust the height of the car for a faster ride in favor of lower fuel consumption), many assist systems and of course Quadra-Trac II all-wheel drive along with Selec- Thanks to the Terrain system (which offers the driver a choice of five pre-set vehicles and drive programs based on terrain and traction via a rotary knob), this Grand Cherokee may be the best choice for many. Understandably, the powertrains and chassis can't match those of premium SUVs, as the Grand Cherokee doesn't even like to drive fast on winding and bumpy roads, which isn't big enough to make it uninteresting. .

After all, it also convinces with its price - far from low, but given the amount of luxury equipment on offer, the aforementioned competitors can be much more expensive. And since the car is not designed for racing after all, it will easily satisfy most drivers, and at the same time, it will gently touch their souls with its charisma and attention-grabbing.
