Habit - iron shirt, and I myself am still a supporter of medium and powerful limousines. Well, it can also be a coupe, but only a five-door. Anything larger is acceptable for a while, but sooner or later the car becomes too big for two passengers, too clumsy, and at times too slow. These small and possibly athletic ones interested me in my early youth, when I did not yet think about how many points a policeman would give me. Because, of course, we haven't had them yet.

I swear by the above. But while the Slovenian proverb is true, sometimes I like something else. But not for long.

To be honest, it was the same with the Mercedes S. Many will say no. But this is not always the case. It is not always enough that a car is large, accessible to the majority, and offers everything the automotive industry has to offer. However, there are differences that ultimately make decisions and customers matter.

As for the Mercedes S-Class, one could superficially say that it has been something special and prestigious since time immemorial. But its shape has changed over time, so much so that only because of it the customer decided yes or no.

It's different now. NO, when we talk about form, it probably doesn't matter. A good five years ago, when the last radically changed generation hit the road, there was a new impulse, a freshness of design, without nostalgic boredom and (too) much respect. The S-Class didn’t look youthful, but its shape certainly fascinated more than boring bankers.

It was cosmetically decorated last summer, but not too much. So much so that they invented technological innovations or, in the language of computers, programmatically modernized them.

Whether the new "software" will be successful or not, time will tell, but the S design class no longer stands out. Some will like it, others won't. And not because an acquaintance asked me when S. and I were driving in front of his store, and, looking at him through the window, was it an E-class Mercedes. Maybe the car looked black because of the smaller black color, but still - it was an extended class S!

The way it is. The S-class is also a kind of victim of home design, where designers want all of their models to show in an instant which brand they belong to, and at the same time, the same designers forget that it would be nice if people could feel better. distinguish between models within the brand.

But this is already a philosophical question, so it's better to go back to the test machine. You can write about it in detail and in detail, or not write at all. Because there is no need for philosophizing and unnecessary reflections.

The test S-Class actually offered almost everything a person could want and need in a car. Designer looks, luxurious interior and powerful engine. Maybe someone will complain about the diesel, but the three-liter engine offers 340 "horsepower", which is enough to accelerate the technological mass from the city to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5,2 seconds. Do you still find the engine controversial?

As a result, of course, driving is at a very high level, as is the level of the driver's ego. But I myself am a supporter of the fact that the driver who bought this car with his own money could be proud and more selfish, and something else along the way.

Of course, also because he has to deduct a lot of money for it. But if he can afford it, he will make a good purchase. And he became a star.
