In short: Peugeot 208 GTi

That's why it is shorter and narrower, lower and lighter, more rounded or, in other words, prettier. But there are not only representatives of the weaker sex in the world - what would men like in this? Inner space is the answer. The new Peugeot 208 is more spacious than its predecessor both in the cabin and in the trunk. And if it is spacious enough, if men like it, if it is beautiful, then this is just an additional plus, whether we admit it or not. However, there are "macho" who have their own criteria and requirements.

According to Peugeot, they thought about them too and created a new model - the XY model, reviving the GTi legend. Both are available in a three-door version and boast a longer wheelbase, which is therefore also reflected in a wider body or wider fenders. Of course, other body parts are also different. The headlights have a different position of the LED daytime running lights, a different mask between them, shiny black with chrome inserts creating a seemingly three-dimensional checkerboard. For an additional fee, like the test car, the Peugeot 208 can be decorated with special stickers that don't work convincingly, because a real GTi has to convince with its shape, not stickers.

Fortunately, there are other bumpers, a dual-arm trapezoidal tailpipe and red GTi lettering. Well, red is also present on the brake calipers underneath the 17-inch dedicated aluminum wheels on the lower front grille frame, on the Peugeot lettering on the tailgate and on the grille, all highlighted by the addition of high-gloss chrome. The sportiness in the interior is emphasized most of all by the seats and steering wheel, as well as red accents on the dashboard or interior door trim.

Motor? The 1,6-liter turbocharger is capable of developing a respectable 200 "horsepower" and 275 Nm of torque. Thus, it takes only 0 seconds to accelerate from 100 to 6,8 km / h, and the top speed is as much as 230 km / h. Sounds tempting, but is it really so? Unfortunately, not completely, so the GTi remains just a great attempt to create a sports car that will impress more than real athletes, especially snobs or those drivers who do not want (and do not know) to drive fast. And, of course, the fairer sex. After all, for a good 20 grand, you get a well-equipped car, which means something too, doesn't it?
