Ford Maverick owners have started reporting serious problems with their trucks.

The Ford Maverick is one of the most sought after vehicles on the market today due to its capabilities and technology. However, it hasn't escaped some of the issues that owners have already reported, such as washable decals or a shaky and annoying drivetrain.

The Ford Maverick has been incredibly popular since its debut. But now people are starting to report problems with it and there can be serious issues that you need to be aware of.

Ford Maverick debut

So far everyone has praised it. This generated more interest and demand than expected when the $20,000 2022 standard hybrid model dropped. The 2023 model sold out instantly and is taking orders for the year.

However, some drivers have already gotten behind the wheel of their Ford Maverick models and have begun to notice some annoying issues.

Some people recommend never buying a new first model year truck, but the Maverick shares many components with the Ford Escape and Ford Bronco Sport. Looks like everything should be sorted out now.

Ford Maverick already has three reviews

The 2022 Ford Maverick has already received three reviews. It doesn't look too bad compared to other options. For example, the 150 Ford F-2021, which already has 11 reviews.

The first of the reviews is related to the incorrect fastening of the rear seat buckle. Mechanically, it's not bad, but annoying.

The second review concerns problems with the fuel tank. The fuel tank may have been damaged due to holes being drilled into it during installation of the sterilization chamber liner. This can cause some big problems.

The third review is related to a software issue when towing trailers. The electric or electric-hydraulic braking system may not work.

Ford Maverick Owner Error Messages

According to Pickup Truck Talk, there are reports of transmission shaking and jerking when switching from gas to battery mode. It takes some getting used to as the same thing can happen to the F-150 Hybrid and it's not a problem.

In addition, the hood seems to tend to billow in the wind, the radio freezes, and the remote start of the Ford Pass app keeps the engine running normally, causing the catalytic converter to turn red.

Ford is aware of these issues and there are corresponding Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) and Special Service Messages (SSM) for each of these issues. So at least Ford technicians know how to fix these problems.

How reliable is the 2022 Maverick?

It's too early to tell how reliable the 2022 Ford Maverick is. However, Consumer Reports gave the Maverick an expected reliability rating of three out of five, which is average. But you don't have details.

The rating is based on the history of the Ford brand and information about similar models such as the Ford Bronco Sport and Ford Ranger. Interestingly, Consumer Reports does not mention the Ford Escape.

For now, the Ford Maverick has a good resale value. It is expected to hold 60% of its value after 60 months. So if you own a Ford Maverick and it turns out it's not what you expected, don't worry. You must be able to get a good income from trading or selling it.
