Today we present the latest crash test results announced by EuroNCAP in June.

EuroNCAP test results

Among the four SUVs that have passed the rigorous test, the Honda CR-V is the only one other than four stars to receive the highest rating for pedestrian protection from the consequences of a collision. From the point of view of protecting the driver and passengers, the English Range Rover turned out to be the best. The Opel Frontera was the worst performer.

Recall that the cars pass the following tests: frontal collision, side collision with a trolley, side collision with a pole and collision with a pedestrian. In a head-on collision, the car collides with a deformable obstacle at a speed of 64 km/h. In a side impact, the truck hits the side of the vehicle at a speed of 50 km/h. In the second side impact, the test vehicle crashes into a pole at a speed of 25 km/h. In the walking test, a car passes a dummy at a speed of 40 km/h.

The maximum safety level is defined as a percentage for the frontal and side impact test. The overall security level is then calculated as a percentage. Every 20 percent. it's one star. The higher the percentage, the more stars and the higher the level of security.

The level of pedestrian safety is marked with circles.

Range Rover **** O

Head-on collision - 75 percent

Side kick - 100 percent

Overall - 88 percent

The 2002 model was tested with a five-door body style. The quality of the exterior of the car is evidenced by the fact that all doors could be opened after a head-on collision. However, there were disadvantages in the form of rigid elements that could lead to knee injury in a frontal collision. There was also a fairly significant load on the chest. The Range Rover performed very well in a side impact.

Honda CR-V **** Ltd.

Head-on collision - 69 percent

Side kick - 83 percent

Overall - 76 percent

The 2002 model was tested with a five-door body style. The bodywork was rated as safe, but the operation of the airbag was questionable. After the impact, the driver's head slid off the pillow. Hard components behind the dashboard pose a danger to the driver's knees. The side test was better.

Jeep Cherokee *** Oh

Head-on collision - 56 percent

Side kick - 83 percent

Overall - 71 percent

The 2002 model was tested. In a head-on collision, significant forces (seat belt, airbag) acted on the driver's body, which could cause a bruise to the chest. The result of a frontal impact was the displacement of the clutch and brake pedals into the passenger compartment. The side test was decent, although the car did not have side airbags.

Opel Frontera ***

Head-on collision - 31 percent

Side kick - 89 percent

Overall - 62 percent

The 2002 model was tested. In a head-on collision, the steering wheel shifted towards the driver. The legs were prone to injury, as not only did the flooring crack, but the brake and clutch pedals went inside. Hard spots behind the dashboard can hurt your knees.
