IndyCar driver Romain Grosjean shows interesting cars in his garage

Romain Grosjean is a familiar face for passionate fans Formula one and Indycar Series championships. Grosjean, an experienced 2020 Formula XNUMX driver who has played nine full seasons with different teams, moved to the Indycar Series after the XNUMX Formula One season. Since then, the Swiss-French driver hasn't been looked back on as he logged several race wins in the new innings of his motorsport career.

While Romain Grosjean has raced several flawless racing cars in Formula and Indycar, there has been little information about his car collection at his US residence. After a series of requests from his followers, Romain Grosjean uploaded a video to his YouTube channel where he introduced all the cars he owns. While the garage has a few bread-and-butter models, it also has a few iconic models from yesteryear that make its garage worth checking out.

Grosjean showed what the garage of a professional racer looks like

The first car Romain Grosjean introduces to his audience is a custom red colored Honda Ridgeline tuned by Honda Performance Development (HPD). This pickup from Honda is the second generation version that hit the market in 2016. Grosjean's Ridgeline looks a bit more exclusive with a different exhaust system and gold HPD rims. Given his connection to Honda at Indycar, Grosjean chose the Ridgeline for his weekend adventures like kite surfing and biking, for which he can put his stuff in the bed in the back. He also praises the Ridgeline's off-road capability, engine, and practicality as a four-door, five-seater.

The second car in Romain Grosjean's car collection is the third generation Honda Pilot. Grosjean owns this Pilot for family use. He says the Pilot feels like a more practical vehicle for a trip with three kids and their friends thanks to two seats in the second row and three seats in the third row. Grosjean's black Honda Pilot has received features such as cooled seats, which he says are a boon in the Miami summer. Grosjean's Honda Pilot is primarily used by his wife, Marion Jolles. He drives it occasionally though, as it's more city oriented than the Ridgeline.

Moving from four wheels to two, Romain Grosjean presents his beautiful 1981 BMW R 100 RS. As you can see from the video, Grosjean has modified this bike to look like a real cafe racer. While details such as the fuel tank, alloy wheels, engine and chassis remain intact, this modified R 100 RS has received a different seat that gives it a cool cafe racer look. In the video, Grosjean says that he had only driven 100 km (900 miles) before starting the tuning work on this BMW R 559.2 RS. The original BMW R 100 RS was the predominant choice of the German police, but this version is very different from the one in the Romain Grosjean collection. In the video, Grosjean also gives some shots of the R 100 RS boxer engine.

The only other two-wheeler owned by Romain Grosjean is the next name on the list, the Trek Time Trial race bike. Romain Grosjean says that considering it's a time trial bike, it has features like a large zip wheel with high performance 858 tires, a power meter on the pedals, large gears on the rear wheel and a time trial position. posture while riding. Grosjean claims it can reach speeds of up to 37 km/h (23 mph), though it's not very comfortable to ride for long hours. Grosjean also says he enjoys cycling and pedaling, covering about 5,000 km (3,107 miles) a year. On his Trek TT bike, Grosjean also shows off his custom Ekai helmet.

Living in the United States, Grosjean now owns a '66 Ford Mustang.

And here is the real surprise, and well-groomed. The last car featured by Romain Grosjean in the video is a 1966 Ford Mustang in gold color, one of the earliest pony car models. Explaining this pristine Mustang, Grosjean says the car has the original color and wheels. Retuned 289cc V4.7 inches (8 liters) of this Ford Mustang develops about 400 hp. It also gets a fully functional retractable roof that can fold down at the touch of a button. Grosjean also gives a detailed description of all sensors and switches for the various functions. The interior is finished in custom beige leather, and the rear seats have Mustang logos and aftermarket seat belts.

After describing the car in detail and how its retractable roof folds, Grosjean gives the backstory of how he acquired this Mustang. Grosjean is the third owner of this Mustang. The first owner bought this car in 1966 for about $3,850. The second owner of this car sent it to Switzerland. Before shipping this car to his residence in Miami, Grosjean used it in Switzerland, where he bought it from a second owner and drove it in Geneva for three years.

The video ends with Roman Grosjean taking the most attractive car on the list, a Mustang, and driving down the open roads of Miami with the roof down.
