Drivers tend to choose the cheaper type of tires

Drivers tend to choose the cheaper type of tires The Polish tire market (for passenger cars, vans and SUVs) with an annual demand of about 10 million units occupies 6% of the European market. The sale is dominated by economy class, i.e. cheaper products, although, as industry representatives emphasize, the Poles are conscious consumers and are looking for the highest quality tires at the lowest price.

Drivers tend to choose the cheaper type of tires– The Polish market is specific, as the share of economy class tires is 40%, while in other countries it is 60% less. We also have a large share of the winter tire market at almost XNUMX%,” says Armand Dahy, Bridgestone’s managing director for Eastern Europe, in an interview with Newseria news agency.

In his opinion, Poland is a strong country in the region, but compared to other European countries, the market is not yet developed. The share of Poland in the European tire market is 6%. Demand is 10 million tires for cars, vans and SUVs. For comparison, in Europe it is 195 million units.

Although cheaper tires dominate sales, Polish drivers, according to Bridgestone's director, are paying more and more attention to the quality of the products they buy.

– Polish clients are quite well educated. They like to know what they are buying. Before making any choice, they read reviews on the Internet or search for information in car magazines. They know what they want. As a result, they're choosing the best product for a given price, which means they're still looking for the best deal, but for that price they want the highest quality tires, says a Bridgestone spokesperson.

According to him, the premium segment is growing faster and faster every year, just like the middle segment, but Poles can choose from very strong brands in the economy segment as well.
