The first information about the new "Volga" appeared in 2011. During this time, several presentations were held, but so far there is no exact date for the release of the model. According to some experts, even the prototype of this car does not exist. At the same time, there are people who are seriously thinking about buying the Volga 5000 GL as soon as its production begins.
Concept overview
Many are waiting for the novelty of the Gorky Automobile Plant, since this is a new and completely different car from previous models. According to the available data, so far one can only imagine what to expect from this concept.
Appearance
Despite the few photos of the car in question, the exterior of the model attracts the eye. The bodywork is quite aggressive, sporty and aerodynamically efficient. In front of the windshield will be installed at a large angle of inclination. Small radiator grill with stylish head optics located at the edges. It will be built exclusively with LED elements. The hood cover will now be endowed with relief elements, and the bumper will receive an additional protective element from below. Fog lights are integrated directly into the front bumper.
If you look at the novelty from the side, it turned out to be no less attractive and interesting. The wheel arches look neat, and they have rather large wheels with a peculiar design of the disks. They are made of modern lightweight material. The back door looks especially special, which, in comparison with the front door, is endowed with smaller dimensions. Glasses, although they have a small area, but this in no way impairs visibility. The door handles are equipped with keyless entry, and the side mirrors can be folded automatically. As for the rear of the body, it looks unique. The bumper is quite large with two built-in exhaust pipes. The rear lights are made in the form of a single strip with LEDs and are located in the upper part of the trunk.
Interior
Information about the salon "Volga" 5000 GL is not yet available. From scraps of information, it can be understood that high quality materials (leather, metal and wood inserts) will be used for interior decoration. The center console, most likely, will be similar to a similar element in Chevrolet cars, since engineers and designers of this concern are actively involved in the development of the concept. To control certain functions, several buttons and knobs will be involved, as well as a multimedia touch screen with the ability to connect modern devices. The steering wheel will be quite large in diameter with a considerable number of functions.
As a tidy, most likely, a screen will be used, by analogy with modern premium cars. The seats will be distinguished by comfort and quality, equipped with ventilation and heating. In addition, it should be possible to automatically adjust the seats over a wide range and lateral support. There is no exact information about what will be installed for the rear passengers - a sofa or a pair of chairs.
Technical specifications
The technical component of the new Volga should be no worse than that of foreign sports cars. Initially, the concept is planned to be equipped with a 3,2-liter power unit and a power of 296 hp. The gearbox, most likely, will be installed mechanical in six steps, which was developed by the engineers of the Gorky Automobile Plant. As for the drive, then, most likely, it will be on both axles. However, a variant with a monodrive is possible. For the Volga 5000 GL, a platform was taken, presumably from an American car with one of the Ford models. The suspension on both axles is planned to be independent, but it is possible that the car will also be equipped with an adaptive system with the possibility of electrical adjustment. As for the price, according to preliminary data, it will start from 4 million rubles.
Volga 5000 GL release date
Earlier it was reported that the production of new items will be launched in the first quarter of 2018. However, to date, the release of the model has not been launched. There is also no reliable data on the start of production. The features of the interior and appearance, as well as the minimum data on the technical equipment of the car, are precisely known. In addition, technical documentation has been developed, on the basis of which some parameters of the concept have become available.
