Volkswagen Amarok V6 gets tougher! Alpine's new off-road packages help the German double cab model compete with the Toyota HiLux Rugged X and Nissan Navara Pro-4X Warrior.

Alpine's new off-road package for the Amarok V6 comes with a host of nice touches, including an upgraded suspension.

Volkswagen Australia has partnered with German car accessories manufacturer Seikel to create two new Alpine off-road packages for the Amarok V6 double cab pickup truck, available from the second quarter of this year.

There are only 100 pieces of Alpine and Alpine Plus off-road packages for sale, with the former starting at $6090 and the latter starting at $12,090. Both can be fitted to automatic variants of the current generation Core, Sportline, Highline and Aventura Amarok V6 classes.

The entry-level Alpine Off-Road package includes the Koni Raid off-road kit (twin-tube shocks with unique front cast steel bottom carrier, Eibach front springs with top and bottom plates, fully pre-assembled front suspension strut, rear 25mm spacer with custom made spring brackets and additional supports and bump stops), polyethylene snorkel and wheel arch lining.

Meanwhile, Alpine's flagship Off-Road Plus package also includes sliders, door trim, and a breather kit for the front and rear differentials, transmission, and transfer case. The rear differential and transmission also received skid plates next to the engine.

The Sportline and Highline are available separately with a $1590 off-road tire package that includes five General Grabber AT3 255/60 R18 112 H XL tires.

For reference, Seikel has been one of Volkswagen's "premium partners" since 2012, and the Alpine and Alpine Plus off-road packages are covered by a five-year unlimited mileage factory warranty.

As reported, the original Amarok will be replaced in early 2023 by a yet-to-be-released next-generation model based on the Ford Ranger T6.2. It should debut later this year, so stay tuned.
