Volkswagen is ready to launch an electric cargo bike

The Volkswagen Cargo e-bike, unveiled last September in Frankfurt, is gearing up for production.

According to the manufacturer, the release of the model is not far off. Equipped with a 250 watt electric motor providing electric assistance up to 25 km / h, this electric tricycle looks like a classic electric bike in the eyes of the rules. Powered by a 500 Wh battery, it promises a range of up to 100 kilometers.

Up to 210 kg payload

The Volkswagen Cargo e-Bike, designed primarily for logistics purposes, claims a maximum payload of 210 kg. Placed between the two front wheels, the loading platform remains permanently level, despite the presence of the tipping device when cornering.

The Cargo e-Bike, marketed by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWCV), the independent division of the Volkswagen Group responsible for the development and marketing of the brand's commercial vehicles, will be assembled in the Hanover area. At the moment, its prices have not been announced.
