Volkswagen Passat 2.0 TDI DPF DSG Highline

This Passat appeared here because of the engine; however, it is not new, it is only being modernized. For a while we knew it as 140 "horses", but now they have changed it so much that it can also develop 170 "horses", which is actually best known for its torque. The increased performance is, of course, well felt across the entire operating range and around 2.000 crankshaft rpm, of this engine when viewed from this body that accelerates from torque. Thus, in combination with an “automatic” DSG gearbox, it makes sense to compensate for engine jerks with an automatic clutch.

Anyone who chooses a DSG in a Volkswagen can expect three things: get rid of the extra, no small amount of money, not get under the steering wheel of the clutch pedal with the typical long travel (hence the best driving position.) And not change seats if he is not in mood. Following the example of classic automatic transmissions, the DSG offers two shift programs, but the driver must be careful when combining this engine and bodywork: the torque seems to suit him better in economy mode (D), but in this mode it remains unchanged. an undesirable feature is that after a few moments of torque, the torque is not immediately available. In sport mode, torque is available in this case.

In any case, when describing this engine, it is difficult to avoid the word "torque". Regardless of the shift program, the torque is so great that even in a small corner at full throttle, the inner wheel slides to a speed of around 100 kilometers per hour, depending on the ground, but despite the turbo diesel, it is not difficult. Determine that such a Passat is quite athletic. Its beautiful features remain: it is a good car in itself, with this engine it also differs in moderate consumption (especially in terms of performance), it drives beautifully and easily, it (especially with this equipment) is already quite prestigious among the public transport ... but spacious at the same time. And already quite large.

Equipped in this way, it has great seats, good grip, non-fatigue and a pleasant combination of leather and suede, has an expandable trunk (plus a ski hole), plenty of room for small items, double sun visors, one of the best on-board computers, but an increasingly obvious drawback: price. At least 32.439 € 37.351 should be deducted for this with this mechanic and this set of equipment and it was also worth XNUMX XNUMX €!

And that could be what keeps many customers cool after the initial heat wave. And he asks: “Maybe you have something similar, but cheaper? "

evaluation

  • It could be a very versatile Passat: because it can be sleek and sporty, with engine and equipment. Even the size number seems to be quite correct. Only the price is salty.
