Volvo has just announced that it has guaranteed a supply of 15 GWh of cells from Northvolta's existing Skelleftea plant in Sweden from 2024 and has announced its intention to jointly build a 50 GWh cell plant by 2026 - as we mentioned at the very beginning. the beginning of the article. The new Volvo-Northvolt electrolyser plant will be fully renewable and will employ around 3 people. Its location has not yet been determined. The first model to benefit from this combination of forces will be the Volvo XC60 Px Recharge, an electric variant of the manufacturer's best-selling crossover. The latter information is surprising because it means that the full electrification of the XC60 will come soon in 2-3 years... Meanwhile, already in 2030, the Chinese brand wants to completely get rid of the line of internal combustion vehicles.
