Volvo and Toyota close

The carmaker Volvo made an unexpected statement that alarmed the whole world of motorists. The assembly of machines is suspended. Unfortunately, it is not yet known for how long production will stop. However, it is known that these will be Belgian and Malaysian car factories. This change will not yet affect the Swedish and American enterprises located in Gothenburg and Ridgeville, respectively. They continue to work for now. The European, British and Turkish factories of the Toyota brand also closed.

Closing reasons

Why are car factories of different manufacturers closing so massively? Toyota and Volvo are just a few on a long list of car manufacturers taking an emergency measure. Due to the fact that the coronavirus is spreading around the world by leaps and bounds, these enterprises have suspended their conveyors.

By such actions, the automaker showed that they primarily care about people, and not their own material benefits. However, the coronavirus pandemic is not the only reason for the closure of Volvo's Belgian plant in Ghent. The second reason is the lack of manpower at the plant. The classification of this production is the XC40 and XC60 crossovers.

As a result of the COVID-19 infection, other auto holdings were forced to close. Among them: BMW, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Opel, Peugeot, Citroen, Renault, Ford, Volkswagen and others.
