A video has been posted on Twitter showing how Live Camera Access works in Sentry Mode, which is a mechanism that allows you to connect to a car's cameras. The function transmits the image in real time and allows you to transmit your voice to the car. And a distorted voice!

Here is an example of a new @Tesla sentry mode application function. This also changes your voice. I can't wait to talk to people passing by! Thanks @elonmusk! pic.twitter.com/lexqyjweAk

The video shows that the owner has a preview of the camera on his phone screen, probably the one on the left side of the car. After pressing a button in the application, he can send a voice to the car, which will then be played through the speaker of the AVAS system (required). The voice is distorted to sound thicker and stronger.

This makes a lot of sense: it makes it difficult to easily identify the speaker and at the same time makes the statements masculine and therefore more repulsive.

To use the function, you need the latest version of the iOS app and a firmware update of at least 2021.36.8. Sentry Mode Live Camera Service does not work with Android app yet. The manufacturer says the communication between the car and the phone is encrypted, so not even Tesla can access it. Despite this, as can be seen on the recording, the voice is transmitted instantly, like in a communicator.
