All season tires. Experts have reservations (video)
More and more Poles are choosing all-season tires. This trend was noticed by tire companies operating in our market.
A significant part of the calendar winter has already passed, and the snow on the streets of the cities fell sporadically or was quickly cleared. Black asphalt has tempted many drivers not to change summer tires to winter tires, but to put on all-season tires. Last year, their sales in Poland grew by 30 percent.
– Polish drivers look at the convenience of using such tires. You don't have to change them, you don't have to stand in line. Remember, however, that this is not a tire for all conditions, points out Piotr Sarniecki of the Polish Tire Industry Association.

An all-season tire performs best in -10 to +10 degree Celsius conditions, unless, of course, the roads are black instead of white. All season tires they have fewer sipes and are made from a harder compound, which reduces their winter performance. On the other hand, these lamellas are completely useless in summer, and the compromise mixture is not fully adapted to the high temperatures prevailing at this time of the year.
– If something needs to be centered, it will not work in the right temperature ranges and in very cold or very warm conditions. It will simply leak or be too stiff, so it doesn't work properly in extreme conditions, says Marcin Grzebeluch from Carevent.pl's Safe Driving Academy.
All-season tires are a compromise between summer and winter tires, which means they will never be as good as seasonal tires. In summer, all-season tires wear out faster, and in winter they have poor grip and, consequently, longer braking distances.
