Japanese firms continue to expand their sales around the world.

As with every closing of the year, the best in various sectors are usually announced, and this time we present a list of the top five best-selling car models in the world.

1- Toyota Corolla

According to a recent study by Carinsurance, which ranks the best-selling cars every year, the car that attracted the most customers in 2020 was undoubtedly the Toyota Corolla, which ranks first with 1,483,120 units sold worldwide.

 

2- Ford F-series

Second place goes to the Ford F-Series. The American automaker managed to sell 1,070,406 of these units.

3- Toyota RAW4

In third place again is the Japanese firm Toyota, which sold 966,971 units of its RAV. 

4- Honda KR-V

In this top, Japanese companies have shifted, as the fourth place is the Honda CR-V, which sold 824 units worldwide.

5- Honda Civic

And closes the top five Honda Civic, sold 5 vehicles worldwide.

Favorite global brands

 In terms of top-selling cars by country, the list compiled by the site shows the Ford F-Series as the favorite in the US; while in Mexico the Versa, from the Japanese firm Nissan, is in first place. 

The Carinsurance report also highlights the world's most loved car brands, and here we show them to you:

Toyota is the favorite in 48 countries, followed by the Czech Skoda in 10, Dacia (a subsidiary of Renault in 7 countries, and just caught up with parent brand Renault).

It is followed by American Ford, which is a favorite in 5 countries, as well as Hyundai, Volkswagen and Chevrolet.

Closes the top 10 of this ranking Japanese Suzuki, which is a favorite in 4 countries.
