Meet the all-new Lexus RZ, the brand's first electric vehicle.

The RZ will feature the North American-designed Lexus Interface multimedia system, recently introduced on the NX and LX. The system will be accessible via voice commands and a 14-inch touch screen.

Lexus has already revealed all the details about the new 450 RZ 2023e, which is the luxury brand's first global battery electric vehicle (BEV). The brand continues to demonstrate that it is a pioneer in electrification in the luxury market.

As part of the Lexus Electrified concept, the brand is looking to expand its portfolio of hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), battery electric vehicles (BEV) and plug-in electric vehicles. hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) products to exceed the needs and expectations of a more diverse range of luxury buyers.

“We believe that Lexus, an established luxury car manufacturer, must continue to build amazing vehicles while respecting nature and the environment to create a carbon-neutral society,” Chief Engineer Takashi Watanabe said in a press release. Lexus International. “The RZ was designed with the goal of creating a unique Lexus BEV that is safe to ride, feels good to the touch and is an exciting drive. DIRECT4, Lexus Electrified's core technology, is an all-wheel drive system that provides fast, linear response based on driver input. We will continue to meet the challenge of delivering new experiences and a unique Lexus BEV driving experience to customers.”

The new RZ marks Lexus' transition to a BEV-focused brand and combines the unique design of a Lexus vehicle with the driving experience made possible by cutting-edge electrified technology.

The new 450 Lexus RZ 2023e uses a dedicated BEV platform (e-TNGA) and a very rigid and lightweight body that improves the vehicle's core performance by achieving optimal weight distribution through ideal battery and engine placement.

On the outside, the RZ features the recognizable Lexus axle grille, replaced by the BEV axle housing. The new front bumper design focuses on aerodynamic efficiency, optimized proportions and styling rather than meeting the cooling and exhaust needs of an internal combustion engine.

Despite its simplicity, the interior space is luxurious with handcrafted elements and cutting-edge technology. In addition, the cabin features a standard panoramic roof that visually expands the space, while passenger comfort is enhanced by a highly efficient heating system with Lexus' first radiant heater.

The new RZ maintains the design language of the next generation of Lexus, aiming for a unique identity and proportions that are born from a dynamic driving experience. In addition, the elimination of the internal combustion engine changed the functional requirements of the front end and challenged Lexus to create a new visual identity by adopting a new design.

The RZ includes some of the extra features that are offered with the available driver monitoring system.

– Collision Warning System [PCS]: This system checks the driver's condition and if the driver is found to be distracted or drowsy based on how often the driver looks away from the road, the system will warn of an earlier time. .

– Dynamic Radar Cruise Control [DRCC]: When enabled, the driver monitoring system checks whether the driver is alert and estimates the distance to the vehicle in front, adjusting accordingly and automatically braking if the distance is too close.

– Lane Departure Warning [LDA]: When the driver monitoring system is activated, the system detects the driver's alertness level and if it determines that the driver is inattentive, the system will activate a warning or power steering in the event of an accident. earlier moment. ordinary.

– Emergency Stop System [EDSS]: when activated Lane Tracking System (LTA), if the driver monitoring system determines that the driver is unable to continue driving, the system will slow the vehicle down and stop within the current lane to help avoid or mitigate the impact of the collision.

Additional amenities for the driver and passenger include heaters to comfortably warm the passenger's knees while operating the air conditioning, which provides warm temperatures with reduced battery consumption.
