Vacation trips. What to check in the car before the trip?
Winter and a holiday trip is the perfect time to inspect a car. This is necessary so that we are not disappointed during our journey and that we travel safely.
First of all, tires, including pressure, tread condition and tread depth. In winter, tires with heights lower than those specified by the manufacturer should be avoided. Snowflakes on the sides of the tread will make it easier for us to find the wear indicator.
Secondly, let's check the condition of the lighting and whether all the lights are working. Do not forget about the washer fluid and put any spare tire in the car. Similarly, check the oil and coolant levels and top up if necessary.

Before leaving, especially in the mountains, let's check the condition of the brake discs and pads, because on long mountain slopes they will be much more loaded without putting them on. In alpine countries, the lack of chains may result in a fine. We will practice putting on chains in a warm garage, so that later in the cold it will not be a mystery to us.
- When going on a trip, let's fill the car to capacity and try not to let the level go below ¼ tank so that we have a possible margin for unforeseen situations, such as traffic jams and forced stops for several hours. “We can freeze without fuel,” explains Skoda Auto Szkoła instructor Radosław Jaskulski.
During the inspection, check that the electrical sockets in the car are working so that we can charge the navigation or multimedia devices for children. Before leaving, just in case, we will also take paper maps, in case the electronics let us down.
