This state-of-the-art device will make your use of the web, and therefore your data and privacy, extremely secure.
In the box, in addition to the device, we find, among other things, four antennas, power supply, ethernet cabley, clear instructions and McAfee app QR code card. The device is made of high quality plastic in my favorite black color. Its dimensions are 223×177×65 mm. Weight only 60 dkg. Four movable antennas can be attached to the router.
The front panel has five LEDs that display the operating mode and the USB 3.0 port. The rear panel has four Gigabit Ethernet ports and one WAN port for connecting an Internet source, WPS switch, and Reset. There are mounting brackets on the bottom that will come in handy when mounting the equipment on the wall, which is a great solution, especially in limited space.
D-Link DIR Router ‑ 1960 we can easily install using the free D-Link App. The application also allows us to manually set options and check who is currently connected to the network. We can also use the "Schedule" function, thanks to which we can plan, for example, Internet access hours for our children.
Together with the router, D-Link provided free access to McAfee Security Suite – five years on the Secure Home platform and two years on LiveSafe. The device works in the 802.11ac standard, in two bands of Wi-Fi. On the wireless network frequency of 5 GHz, I achieved speeds of about 1270 Mbps, and on a frequency of 2,4 GHz - 290 Mbps. It is known that the closer to the router, the better the result.
DIR-1960 operates on the Mesh networking standard, allowing devices to communicate directly with each other. Simply place the DAP-1620 Wi-Fi Repeaters in different parts of your home to use the same Wi-Fi network anywhere and move from room to room or kitchen without losing connection.
Four antennas mounted on the chassis improve signal quality, while the dual-core 880 MHz processor perfectly supports multiple devices working in parallel on the network. Thanks to the latest AC Wave 2 technology, we get three times faster data transfer than with Wireless N generation devices. It is also worth using the router in the voice command mode issued via Amazon Alexa and Google Home devices.
The device performs well in a home network. The data transfer speed is really very satisfactory.
