Japanese Potential – Honda Accord 2.4 i-VTEC Test

Bold design, sporty features and geometric body shape - the style that characterizes this Japanese limousine. The headlights, combined with the direction indicators, fit snugly into the fenders. The grille, bumpers, sills and body moldings are highly stylized, which increases the aggressiveness and makes the car more massive. Chrome-plated details add zest - grille trim, eye-catching door handles, window frames and two exhaust pipes. A subtle spoiler completes the rear. The Accorda's roofline goes low for a good drag coefficient. Asymmetrical taillights fit into the upper part of the bumper and tailgate.

In sporty style

Driving is convenient and comfortable. The front seats - fully electrically adjustable - are soft, strongly contoured and support the legs well. Depending on your needs, you can choose a wide armrest with a cooled or heated compartment. The sporty-style cab has a variety of switches, controls and buttons. You might get a little lost. Finishing materials are of high quality and fit correctly. Black is the dominant color with aluminum accents and stylish wood accents in the central tunnel. The dark interior design is in harmony with the white exterior paint.

Front seat passengers feel comfortable, which cannot be said about rear seat passengers. Getting into a comfortable position on your back can be difficult. The place is smaller than it looks from the outside. Legroom is especially lacking. Likewise with the trunk. It is not functional, with low power for such a car - only 467 hp. Driving becomes more enjoyable thanks to a good audio system with ten speakers and automatic volume control adapted to the speed of movement and conditions in the cabin.

With excellent temperament

The Honda Accord is not devoid of aggressiveness not only due to the body design, but also taking into account the most powerful unit that was equipped with the tested unit - a 2.4-liter DOHC i-VTEC gasoline engine with over 200 hp. The vehicle can accelerate dynamically by making an engine sound. The drive loves high RPM and you can feel its power by keeping the motor running at 5 RPM. The maximum speed of the tested model is limited to 000 km/h. The Accord handles tight and tight corners very well and has excellent road holding. Rigidly tuned suspension slightly reduces the comfort of movement on bumpy roads. Unfortunately, something for something.

The car is equipped with numerous security systems, incl. airbags and curtains, LKAS lane keeping system, ACC adaptive cruise control, CMBS collision avoidance system. The VSA system is primarily responsible for directional stability control.

The tested model in the Executive version currently costs PLN 133, while in the basic version you can purchase it for PLN 500.
