Is this China's craziest ute?

Great Wall, or GWM, has unveiled arguably China's craziest car with the introduction of a new low-slung, wide-body vehicle that is reminiscent of a return to street performance once dominated by Ford and Holden V8-powered vehicles.

Billed as a "pick-up supercar concept" but not yet officially named, the new ute features a tarmac-cleaning bodykit, quad tailpipes, a rear diffuser, heavily flared fender flares and a wide body. like giant gold-rimmed alloys that have been slammed shut.

The brand called on its fans to name the new model through an official Twitter post that reads: “Bold lines and new design, this is what a supercar pickup truck is all about! But what should we call it? We would like to ask for your help to name our new model."

But with a wider brand catalog that includes names like "Big Dog" and "King Kong", you can bet that any moniker attached to this new pickup truck will be something out of the ordinary.

And it looks pretty epic, we think. What we don't know, however, is what powers it, as GWM hasn't confirmed the engine's specs yet, nor did it open the hood so we could get a cheeky look at it.

But we do know they have access to a twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine called the Great Wall 6Z30. The maximum torque of this engine of 500 Nm is already reached at 1500 rpm, and the maximum power of 260 kW is reached at 6000 rpm. Either that, or it will stay with its 2.0-liter turbodiesel that we are already familiar with.

Time will tell about this.
