Forget about the lack of goods! Getting into the 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and other new Toyota models just got a lot easier in Australia.

The RAV4 Hybrid is one of many Toyota models in high demand, but getting behind the wheel of one of them has become very easy.

The automotive industry is currently facing a number of unprecedented challenges as a shortage of new cars affects buyers in Australia and abroad. But local market leader Toyota has come up with a solution for some customers.

Yes, getting into the RAV4 Hybrid or nine other Toyota models is now as easy as downloading a smartphone app and using Bluetooth to unlock the car's doors and drive away.

Like this; Toyota entered the car rental business looking to compete with GoGet with its new subsidiary Kinto, which has now gone nationwide after a soft launch that began last June at five locations in three states.

Kinto has opened across Australia with 45 locations, including selected Toyota dealerships and regional areas, making its fleet of Toyota vehicles available to a wide range of customers.

Unlike traditional car rental companies, Kinto uses its app to make the process relatively easy by limiting paperwork (digital only). Once they find a Toyota vehicle that suits their needs, customers can access it remotely and then go about their business.

Available Toyota models include the Prius C and Yaris light hatchbacks, Corolla small car, Camry midsize sedan, C-HR small SUV, RAV4 midsize SUV, Kluger large SUV, HiLux midsize SUV, and HiAce midsize van.

Each car can be rented through the Kinto app for an hour, a day, a week, 30 or 60 days at a flat rate and cost per kilometer depending on the selected Toyota model and duration.

For example, a Prius C can be rented for $9.10 for an hour, and each kilometer traveled costs 30 cents. A HiLux (double-cab pickup truck) can be rented for 60 days for $4447, with each kilometer driven costing 22 cents.

It is worth noting that the flat rate covers insurance (including deductible), roadside assistance and fuel costs, the latter being paid for by the fuel card found in the glove box.

While several Toyota Hybrid models are currently available, Kinto is already gearing up for the future of electric vehicles (EVs) and will have a hybrid-only passenger fleet soon.
