Check engine light on Lifan x60
After I bought the car, less than a month had passed since I had to call the OD for service. The control light came on. In principle, many say that it doesn’t matter, wrap it with electrical tape and drive, but I still decided to go to the service, as it is, I didn’t have time to buy it, since this is already a mistake, the first thought in my head: “Probably a factory defect.”
So, I got to the OD that we have in Sterlitamak. I checked in, placed an order - an outfit, took the keys and waited almost 40 minutes for my car to be driven to a gas station, although they said a couple of minutes. Then they also processed that they had been there for a long time, because they diagnosed for a long time that they raised the car on the elevator three times, and they were looking for something there. Well, I waited another 1,5 hours. And then they kicked the car out, I think everything is fine, everything was done. And here it turns out not. They said that the problem is in the catalytic converter, they can’t do anything except contact the factory and wait for an answer, but they didn’t explain what kind of answer they just wait for a call from them.
The most surprising, they said all the rules, the catalyst does not affect the ride, plus the exhaust is not very good. And the strangest thing is that the car is NEW, and the problem with the catalyst comes from the factory. Am I that unlucky or has anyone had this?

In the Lifan X60 car, the control unit controls the operation of electronic equipment and various sensors. This is a microcontroller with a single processor running at 40 MHz, the electronic control unit (ECU) receives data from sensors. They are located in the engine block, intake and exhaust manifolds, exhaust system. The computer, according to the firmware program, processes information and controls the operation of the motor through other actuators.

After starting the Lifan X60 engine, the on-board computer diagnoses the nodes and monitors their condition in real time. If any sensor signals a malfunction, then the microcontroller detects this and in some cases gives a light signal - a check. The sensor is located on the right side panel. A burning indicator scares many drivers. But before we learn how to reset the check on the Lifan X60, we will study the main causes of the malfunction.
When a problem occurs, the car's computer corrects the error code. It is written to the microcontroller memory. The vehicle control system enters a safe mode, which allows you to drive to a technical station for repair and maintenance. The driver cannot leave his Lifan X60 alone on the road.

Most often, the check lights up when the level of harmful substances in the exhaust gases is exceeded. The cause of the signaling device may be low-quality fuel. The driver should avoid refueling the Lifan X60 with gasoline with an octane rating below 93. The second reason is the failure of one or more sensors.
When the error indicator goes out
The indicator can only turn off if the ECU detects no errors or malfunctions within 3 driving cycles. But the error code will remain in memory. It can be read and erased with a diagnostic scanner, it is connected to a special EOBD chip.
The Lifan X60 electronic control unit can independently reset the error, this occurs after 40 cycles of engine warm-up to operating temperature, provided that the malfunction no longer occurs.
If the check has not come out after 3 cycles, it is recommended to contact the service station and already there, using a scanner, determine the address where the malfunction should be looked for.
Remember that if a malfunction is detected, the system will independently try to solve the problem or make changes to the engine management program so that the car owner can get to the service station and carry out repairs there.
Reset errors by improvised means
We will not be innovative here, but there is only one way. Disconnect the battery terminal for 5 minutes. The check may fail, depending on the severity. For example, a low quality fuel mixture error should go away, and with our gasoline quality, this is the most common problem.
You can buy an ELM-327 adapter - this is a cheap Chinese analogue of some famous device, but it will be enough. You will also need an Android phone. We install the Torque program, connect to the car and send a signal through the program to reset errors in the ECU. Also included with ELM is a free program with which you can connect your laptop to the car. And already with the help of a laptop, restart the Lifan X60 check. In both versions (portable and Torque) you can read the bugs and get a short annotation along with the code.
