6. Connect the pump to the fitting and pressurize. This will drain the rest of the coolant.

However, due to design features, a certain amount of antifreeze still remains in the system. If you add new liquid to it, this may degrade the quality of the latter. Especially if different types of antifreeze are used. To clean the system, it must be flushed.

Flushing the cooling system

Mandatory flushing of the Nissan Ji 15 cooling system is carried out as follows:

1. Fill the system with distilled water.
2. Start the engine and let it warm up completely.
3. Stop the engine and cool down.
4. Drain the liquid.
5. Repeat the manipulations several times until the flowing water becomes almost transparent.

After that, you can fill the system with antifreeze.

Before filling, concentrated coolant must be diluted in the proportion specified by the manufacturer. For dilution use distilled (demineralized) water.

When pouring fresh fluid, there is a risk of air pockets forming, which does not have the best effect on the operation of the system. To prevent this from happening, it would be correct to do the following:

1. Install the radiator hose in place, fix it with a clamp.
2. Connect the hose to the air outlet. Insert the other end of the hose into the expansion tank.
3. Pour in antifreeze. Your level should be about halfway between the minimum and maximum marks.
4. Engine starting.
5. When coolant begins to flow from the connected airless hose, remove it.
6. Put the plug on the fitting, close the expansion tank.

During the described method, it is necessary to monitor the liquid level. If it starts to fall, reload. If not, you can fill the system with more air.

The required amount of antifreeze is written in the vehicle manual. This model with a 1,6 engine will require 5,5 liters of coolant.

Important! It should be noted that after flushing, part of the water remained in the system. The mixing ratio of concentrate to water must be corrected for this amount.

Replacement frequency

The recommended coolant replacement period for this brand of car is 90 thousand kilometers. For a new car with low mileage, it is recommended to change the antifreeze for the first time after 6 years. The following replacements must be carried out every 3 years, or 60 thousand kilometers.
