Replacing the knock sensor on the Priore with your own hands

The knock sensor began to be installed on all VAZ injection vehicles, and the Lada Priora is no exception. But if earlier, on ordinary 8-valve engines, the sensor was located in the visibility zone and it was easy to get to it, now at 16-cells. motors are different.

In principle, the knock sensor also remained in the same place on the cylinder block, in the immediate vicinity of the dipstick neck for checking the oil level in the engine. But given the design of the 16-valve powertrain, getting to the DD is a little more difficult.

To look at it more clearly, I will give an example of 8-cl below. engine, since in fact - the location is similar:

As you can see, it is enough to unscrew only one bolt with a 13 key and remove the sensor. Of course, you must first disconnect the power from it by pressing the metal clip of the plug, as shown in the photo below:

Although, if you have thin hands, you can do everything through the top, but you have to work a little and get dirty, since there is practically no room for such maneuvers. The price of a new sensor for Lada Priora is about 25-300 rubles. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
