Replacing the fuel level sensor on the Grant

FLS malfunction is one of the reasons why the fuel gauge on the Lada Grants dashboard may not work. First of all, you need to start the diagnosis with this particular part. To check if this mechanism works, it is enough to pull the fuel pump out of the tank and move the float with your hand, observing the sensor readings.
If there is no reaction, then most likely the cause of this malfunction is precisely in the FLS. In this case, it must be replaced. To get to this part, the first step is to get the entire fuel pump module and only after that start working. To do this, you need the following tool:
- Flat blade screwdriver
- Phillips screwdriver
- Hammer or special wrench
Removal and installation of the fuel level sensor on the Grant
First, we lift the top of the module to the end so that there is a maximum distance between it and the bottom. In this position, it will be more convenient to work further.
After that, we disconnect the single power wire, which is well shown in the photo below.
And now we disconnect the second plug:
And the last - the third, as shown clearly below.
The fastening locks there are quite simple, and it will not be difficult to figure out how to disconnect them. Next, we remove the power wires from the inside of the Grants fuel pump module.
And now it is necessary to disconnect the FLS housing from the pump module. To do this, slightly pry the retainer, as you can see in the photo.
And now we move it down, as it were, and it can be removed without any difficulties. This is clearly demonstrated.
Now you can replace this part with a new one, of course, knowingly working properly. The price of a new FLS for Grant is around 350 rubles. Installation is carried out in the reverse order and the wires are connected all in their places.
To check immediately, connect the power supply to the fuel pump and now check whether the fuel indicator on the instrument panel responds when moving the float by hand. If everything is in order, we put the pump in the fuel tank and the repair can be considered complete.
