Replacing the idle speed sensor (IAC) on the Priora

On all VAZ injection vehicles, and Priora is no exception, idle speed controllers are installed, which are designed to maintain constant engine speed at idle.

[colorbl style="blue-bl"]If you notice that your car's idle speed has begun to float or jump in unacceptable ranges, this is an occasion for diagnostics or even a complete replacement of the idle speed control.[/colorbl]

[colorbl style="green-bl"]This sensor can have a completely different cost in the store, and it depends primarily on the manufacturer. The price of a GM regulator is about 2000 rubles. If we consider our domestic, then it will be from 500 rubles.[/colorbl]

In order to replace the sensor at home, it is best to use the following tools for this repair:

• Magnetic telescopic handle
• Short Blade and Pancake Blade Phillips Screwdrivers

The first step is to say where is the IAC on the Lada Priora and how to get to it ?! We open the hood, remove the plastic engine cover from above and look at the throttle assembly. On the right side of it, if you look in the direction of the car, there is the part we need.

Now, slightly bending the plug retainer, pull it off, as shown in the photo below:

Now, using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two bolts securing the idle speed control to the throttle assembly. This is clearly shown in the picture below.

Then you can gently move the sensor to the side and completely remove it from its seat, since nothing else holds it there.

Features of installing a new IAC on Priora

In fact, there should be no difficulties when installing a new sensor, since everything is done in the reverse order. But it is still worth noting one fact.
