The problem of environmental pollution with harmful substances contained in exhaust gases has become so serious that it has pushed automakers to produce hybrid and all-electric cars, despite their obvious unprofitability. However, road pollution is becoming more common, and one way to protect people in a vehicle from atmospheric air entering the cabin has become a cabin filter. However, initially it was able to protect the car only from dust and other large particles that entered the car's ventilation system through the air intakes.

Soon, two-layer devices appeared that improved the degree of filtration, and even later, activated carbon began to be added to the filter element, which has excellent adsorption characteristics for a number of pollutants and volatile substances that are harmful to health. This made it possible to prevent carbon dioxide from entering the cabin, as well as unpleasant odors, bringing the filtration efficiency to 90-95%. But manufacturers are faced with a problem that currently limits their ability: increasing the quality of filtration leads to a deterioration in filter performance.

Therefore, the ideal product is not one that provides absolute protection, but one that maintains the optimal proportions between the level of filtration and the resistance to air penetration through the barrier in the form of layers of fabric, special paper or synthetic material. In this regard, carbon filters are the undisputed leaders, but their cost is about two times higher than that of a high-quality anti-dust filter element.

• when the windows start to fog up so often that you have to turn them on all the time, and this does not always help. This means that the cabin filter is so clogged that the internal air begins to dominate in the ventilation system (analogous to the recirculation mode in climate control), which by default is more humid and saturated with moisture;
• if the interior is often covered with a layer of dust, which is especially noticeable on the dashboard, and cleaning helps for one or two trips, after which the procedure must be repeated. There are plenty of comments here, as they say.

Of course, if the car is used relatively infrequently, these signs may not appear soon, but in most cases, especially when driving frequently in city traffic jams or on dirt roads, the cabin filter becomes clogged very quickly.

How to replace the Peugeot Partner filter element

For different cars, this procedure can be extremely simple, without the use of tools, or so complicated that it requires disassembling almost half of the car that the owner of this car has to contact a service center and pay a considerable amount for this. The owners of a French minibus were not lucky in this regard, although it is quite possible to change the Peugeot Partner cabin filter on your own, but you definitely won’t get pleasure from this event. However, solid bills issued at service stations force owners to take tools and draw up documents on their own. For this job, you will need a flat-blade screwdriver and pliers with long, rounded cone-shaped tips. Sequencing:

• since the process of replacing the Peugeot Partner Tipi cabin filter (like its blood relative Citroen Berlingo) is not described in the instruction manual, let's try to fill this gap: the filter is located behind the glove compartment; this is a fairly common design decision process, which in itself is neither an advantage nor a disadvantage, it all depends on the specific implementation. To do this, pry off the three latches with a screwdriver, and when they give in a little, make an effort to pull them out;

• if you look at the resulting niche from the bottom up, you can see a ribbed protective lining, which must be removed by sliding it towards the passenger door, and then pulling it down. As a rule, no complications arise. On the cover, upon closer inspection, you can see an arrow indicating the direction of insertion of the filter element; 
• now you can remove the filter, but you need to do this carefully, taking it by the corners and at the same time trying to pull it out. Otherwise, the filter will bend and may get stuck; 
• on the product itself, you can also find an arrow indicating the direction of air flow, as well as French inscriptions Haut (top) and bas (bottom), which, in principle, can be considered absolutely useless and uninformative;
• now you can start installing a new filter (not necessarily original, but suitable in terms of geometric dimensions) and assembling all the parts in the reverse order. The filter must be inserted without skew until it stops, the caps that hold the body should be inserted simply by pressing on them (you do not need to twist the unscrewing clip, it is fixed in the same way).

A little effort, 20 minutes of wasted time and a lot of saved money that can be spent on buying quality consumable charcoal is the result of your courage. The experience gained can hardly be called invaluable, but given the frequency of this operation in the future, it cannot be called useless either.
